I guess it’s Fall now?
So I learned the hard way you shouldn’t take 40mg of Valium on a school night, because you’ll sleep right thru your alarm clock.
Yesterday I workt hard: three classes in a row, then scholarship work in the concert hall with Mr Alford & Derek Collins, which was strenuous. I was able to grab a slice of pizza in the food court before lunch hours were over, thank goodness. We had to raise & lower by rope these huge, heavy lighting rigs above the stage—a pretty daunting task for two skinny motherfuckers like ourselves. The easy part was sliding the colord gels into the lamps once they were lowerd. Derek & I chitchatted afterwards; he’s a vocal-ed major from Morristown; he wants to be some sort of singing minister or something. We bid adieu, then I ate a quick dinner with Sean, Tayler, Kenan & Chad. And then Sean & I headed to Sumner County.
Ceejay’s cousin had some Lortabs & Valiums to sell. I bought 9 of the latter. Gave 1 to Sean, 2 to Ceej, and 1 to me, initially. We practiced with ease, all of us in good, laid-back moods, Ceej even moreso since he had a case of beer. I recognized immediately the feeling I had from when I took one back in tenth grade… of course, that pill was only 2mg, while these are tens. Ceejay spent the night in the dorm with us. We chilled here for a bit & then went to borrow some papers from Tayler (he had just got done smoking, so he was ready to hit the sack). I popt two more Valiums & we went cruising. Ceej rold a J & we drove round downtown Nashville casually toking. Later on, after watching Spiderman & researching artificial languages, I rold myself the last bit of weed into a half-assed joint, popt a 4th Valium, washed it down with the last of the beer, and once again drove around toking (altho I don’t remember exactly where—the bad part about Valium? Memory loss). Then I came back, crankt one out and fell asleep around 4am.
I didn’t wake up till noon.
I thought I had set my alarm but apparently it wasn’t loud enough. I slept like a rock from the time I went to bed until the time I woke up. Sean had gone to class; Ceejay had just woken up also. I sent my professors an e-mail saying I had overslept, yadda yadda. Meanwhile Ceej went outside to smoke a cigarette & was in conversation with some dude from the projects over on 12 South who said he was gonna hook us up with some rolls, so we drove him over there (and DAMN it really is the ghetto) waited 10 minutes and then decided we got gypt.
I had missed Music Lit & Aural Skills, but I still had to get ready for work & ensemble. Ceej & I ate at Chick-fil-A and got coffee at Java City, and on the way back ended up taking an afternoon joint ride with Tayler near the same projects we’d been to earlier. At first I was worried I’d be too incoherent to work since I still felt the Valium, had just taken a hefty hit from a blunt, and drank a tall coffee, but the combination actually helpt: I was friendly, pragmatic, cool. Derek & I outsmarted Alford when we figured out how to move an awkward table down a narrow stairwell, and then we repeated it three more times.
I had a lot of fun today. In ensemble we split into quartets, so it was just me, Levi, Cameron & Sean playing fairly easy parts. Ceej spent the afternoon playing Halo with Tayler & Kenan. I love it when my friends get along. I lost the two Valium tablets I’m suppost to have left over, tho. Ohhhh well.
