Today containd a bunch of BS orientation activities. We woke up early and each went to our UNash 1000 classes. Mine had been consolidated with some others, so I only had to walk over to the Wyatt Center next door, room 210, but Sean had to hoof it clear to Kirkland Hall. All day it was Welcome, welcome, here’s how you study here’s how to do well, blah blah blah. The people in my class are mostly morons but that’s OK. Dr Burton & a grad student named Delaney (sort of sexy-librarian type with a husky voice) are our “group leaders” I guess. Freshman Convocation in the Memorial Gymnasium. Box lunch. I was ready to fall asleep. Ice breakers, surveys, a video about plagiarism in the Student Life Center (SLC), and then we were free to go. By this time it was like 4:30. I took a nap. So did Sean. It has stormed on & off all day. Tonight I sat outside our room and finished Night (Elie Wiesel) and appreciated how slick the campus lookt on a rainy evening. We watched Mr Show and screwd around on our computers. Life is sweet. More freshman shit tomorrow, not as long tho and then Jordan is coming to spend the night. Something to look forward to. I feel like I’m writing nothing.
(Update—I’ve set this blog to private, at the wise suggestion of my brother, to avoid getting in trouble with the school. If you’re reading this without a password, it’s probably some time in the future after I’ve graduated or otherwise left the university. For a further layer of privacy I’ve also changed a lot of the names & places.)
