Ceejay spent last night & is again spending tonight here on campus. He sleeps in a stanky old cloth sleeping bag on the floor. Sean is being polite about it all. I got up early today, stepping over the snoring mass on my way out the door to practice before my lesson with Dr Filip. He seems impatient with me. So, I’ve decided to practice a lot more each day (uh, duh). Directly after Sociology class, Ceej & I were suppost to meet Jordan at Nashville Used Music (Sean was taking a midterm) to talk to some Emergenza Festival people, that “Battle of the Bands” thing he signed us up for. But Jordan didn’t show up. It was bullshit anyway: $70 entry fee, and the first round’s held at Hair of the Dog, a venue we’ve played a TON at over the past year—so it’s basically a pay-to-play scenario, at a venue where they already know us by name & thus our reputation precedes us. Almost a waste of gas just driving over there & back.
Once his midterm was over Sean deposited a check from his dad & withdrew $20 for a quarter Tayler said he could hook us up with. We rode with him in his soupt-up red Honda over to his friend Dion’s house, near Trevecca & the Redoubt, where we smoked blunts & watched them play chess and a brand-new DVD of Constantine on TV…
